Class 2A Feature Athlete (Sept. 13)

Name: Sida Wilson
High School: Quaker Valley
Grade: 12
Position: Libero

Background Info: Wilson is a 5-4 senior libero. She has started every game since her sophomore year. As a sophomore, she was a second team selection on the Section 2-AA All-Star Team. Last year, injuries forced her to move around and play multiple positions. Sida is an honor student who if she decided to, would be one of the best tennis players at Quaker Valley. Sida has played club volleyball for Pittsburgh Juniors the last three years.

Quotes from Quaker Valley coach Mike Vavrek: "Sida is one of the most dedicated and hardest working girls I have ever coached. Sida always give you everything she has and is the heart and soul of our serve receive and defense, and has been for the last three years. Sida is a student of the game, and also someone who is very passionate about the game of volleyball. She always wants to learn, and is someone who I feel will make a great coach someday. Sida has had 35 digs in our last 2 matches this year. Sida has shown so much courage, and overcome so much adversity the last two years as she has shown up everyday for this team, playing through an injury and has never complained once about it. After high school Sida plans on attending Harvard and becoming a doctor."
