Quotes from Serra Catholic coach Keith Trahan: "Julia is a third year starter. As a freshman and sophomore, Julia was a key element of our teams success. As a freshman, Julia played right-side for our WPIAL final four team and last year as a sophomore played outside hitter, where she excelled as both a hitter and passer. Julia rated second in both kills (195) and passing average (2.4 on 0-3 scale) to graduate Lauren Kolenic, who is now playing at Eastern Kentucky. She also rated third in digs (186) to Kolenic and our libero, Morgan Schoy. She was an elite hitter and server as a freshman, added elite passing and defense to her skill set as a sophomore, and has continued to improve into her junior season. She currently leads our team in kills, and is second in passing average, digs, and blocks. I think Julia is the best junior all-around outside hitter in the region, and she is only getting better, as a player and leader on our team."
“Having Olivia D’Andrea and Julia Piccolino back has played a big part in our success,” Trahan said. “This is Olivia’s third year as our setter. Julia has started on the front line since her freshman year. Julia has become our go-to hitter this year.”
