Class 2A Feature Athlete (May 2)

Name: Andrew Schnarre
High School: O.L. Sacred Heart
Grade: 11
Position: Outside Hitter

Background Info: Schnarre is a two-year letter winner so far and was a second team All-Section pick last year in the top heavy Section 1-AA. While he doesn't have the usual size for a outside hitter, he makes the most with his physical ability and competitiveness. Andrew has played every position at one time or another with the exception of middle blocker, and if needed, he would do that as well. Just a multi-dimensional player that knows the game well and has good skills to go along with it.

Quotes from O.L. Sacred Heart coach Mike McDonald: "On a team that has low numbers and a lot of new kids with very little volleyball experience, Andrew has been a full-time starter at whatever position that we need him to do. While he has mostly been an outside hitter these last two seasons, Andrew has also been a libero and a setter at times, when the situation has dictated a need. He is a very good competitor, wants to learn the sport, and is the kind of kid every coach wants and the kind of teammate every player wants. Our season hasn't gone the way we wanted it to for the past two seasons, but Andrew continues to be a bright spot, This year has been challenging for us, and Andrew has not let our win/loss situation have an effect on his play and his demeanor on the court. I think that says a lot about a guy. I'm really glad I will have him returning next year to play for OLSH."
