Class 4A Feature Athlete (Oct. 3)

Name: Katie Weston
High School: Canon-McMillan
Grade: 11
Position: Libero

Background Info: Weston has been the starting libero for Canon-McMillan for 3 years. She has received first team All-Section honors and first team Big 56 her freshman and sophomore years, and she made the third team of the WPIAL Class 4A All-WPIAL Team her freshmen year. She has competed at nationals with her Renaissance volleyball club team, and has been invited to several scouting camps over the last two summers.

Quotes from Canon-McMillan coach Sheila Mitchell: "Katie has been such a great libero since her freshman year. She knows the game inside and out. Katie can run the defense where she sees holes and makes plays that keep our hitters hitting over 400 kills on the season. This year, I have seen Katie continue to be a great leader on the court, and she helps her teammates stay focused on the common goal. She leads the team with 340 digs, a 2.25 serve receive percentage and another team high, 25 aces.
