Class 4A Feature Athlete (Oct. 7)

Name: Mia Tuman
High School: North Allegheny
Grade: 10
Position: Outside Hitter/Setter

Background Info: Tuman is a starting outside hitter who is tearing it up on the court in the front row and backrow for NA in the first week of action, and yet is one of the top setters in the country for her graduating class. She plays with senior setter and Louisville commit Paige Morningstar, so her role on the North Allegheny team comes as a result of the needs of the team. She has seamlessly transitioned into a passing/attacking role and is making a huge impact. She has led the team in kills in each of their matches. She is hitting high and hard and is handling the passing responsibilities like a veteran outside hitter.

Quotes from North Allegheny coach Heidi Miller: "Mia brings a great energy to the court. She is hardworking, happy, a great teammate, and extremely talented. She is a gifted athlete in size, strength and speed. She has a high IQ for the game and she's very springy. I'm excited for people to get to see her play this season in a role that I'm guessing will come to a surprise to most people as she is a fantastic setter as well and we really won't be using her in a setting capacity. But boy can she take a rip!"
