Name: Kayla Doherty High School: Quaker Valley Grade: 12 Position: Libero Background Info: Doherty has been playing volleyball since the 7th grade. She has been a member of the varsity team since her freshman year. She has played three years of club volleyball at Pitt United. As a sophomore, Kayla was selected as a second team all section player. Last year as a Junior, she was selected as a 1st team all section player. After her 7th grade year, she started going to camps and clinics to improve. She started playing club volleyball after her freshman year, and has continued to play every year since. Kayla is someone who works hard and improves every day, and is a true competitor. She will graduate as only the 5th 4-year letter winner in my 10 years at Quaker Valley. As a freshman, she played varsity as a serving/defensive specialist. She has held the starting Libero position for QV since the beginning of her sophomore year. She is very knowledgeable of the sport and would do a great job stepping in at another position if we needed her.
