Name: Makayla Mangan High School: Baldwin Grade: 12 Position: Middle Hitter Background Info: This is Mangan's first season as a regular starter, although she did see some time as a sub last season. Outside of volleyball, Makayla has played both slow-pitch and fast-pitch softball. She is consistently on the honor roll and works with the elderly. Quotes from Baldwin coach Chris Kelly: "Makayla is undersized for a middle, but she is very athletic and quick which has given her success early on this season. She has led our team in kills each of the first three matches. She's had to be smart with her swings and has worked hard at learning how to place the ball in the soft spots of opposing defenses. I'm proud at how hard she's worked so that she can contribute in such a big way for her team. |
