Class 3A Feature Athlete (April 21)

Name: J.C. Govannucci
High School: Norwin
Grade: 12
Position: Right-Side Hitter

Background Info: J.C. has been playing volleyball since Freshman year at Norwin. He has participated in club volleyball for Blue and Gold, Keystone and now his current team, Exile. J.C. has lettered for the past two seasons and will finish his senior year with a third letter. J.C. works 40 hours a week at Dunkin Donuts while managing to maintain good grades and high success on the court. J.C, will play volleyball at Thiel College after he graduates this spring.

Quotes from Norwin coach Nick Fallone: "J.C. wasn’t always this committed to volleyball. He was a basketball guy that was hesitant to come out for the team as his focus was solely on basketball. As the years progressed his interests evolved and he spent time in and out of the gym working on his craft. He has developed into a strong leader with a high volleyball IQ. It has been great watching his growth over the past four seasons and I’m excited to watch his development continue at the college level. JC is exactly what you look for in a right-side hitter - wants the ball, big at the net, left handed, and can score at a high capacity. It is without question that Thiel college is getting a great player, leader and student-athlete in JC Govannucci.
