Name: Payton Limley High School: South Allegheny Grade: 12 Position: Libero/Setter Background Info: Payton was voted 1st team all-section in 2021. She's a three-year varsity starter for South Allegheny and one of our captains. She is also a member of the Gladiators softball team, Expect Respect, National Honor Society and currently holds a 4.0 GPA. Payton wants to study psychology and play volleyball in college but hasn’t yet decided on a school. Quotes from South Allegheny coach Jack Kelley: "Each year I’ve been here, Payton has played a different role: outside hitter, defensive specialist, and this season libero and setter. Our starting setter (Angelina Cortazzo) missed several games so Payton was forced to move from libero to setter for about half of her senior year. Although she has never really played the position before, Payton kept us competitive in all of the games she was setting. But I’m thrilled to have her back at libero. She reads the game really well and everything just runs much smoother when Payton is running the show from the back row." |
