Name: Faith Fetsko High School: South Park Grade: 12 Position: Outside Hitter Background Info: Faith has been playing volleyball at South Park since 7th grade, and is a four-year starter at South Park High School. This is her third year being a team captain and has achieved the following honors throughout the last few years: 1st team all section, 1st team all WPIAL, PA Coaches Association All State Team, and player of the week. Faith has played club volleyball now for seven years and has played for Pittsburgh Elite the last two years. She has been a High Honor Roll student throughout her academic career and is a member of the National Honor Society. Additionally, she is a member of the South Park Interact Club and Principal's Advisory Committee. While maintaining a 4.2 GPA, she participates in Softball and Unified Bocce while at South Park, as well as AAU Softball. After graduation, she plans to study Biochemistry to lead into medical school or a PA program, and is looking to extend her volleyball career further into college. Faith plays the game with true passion, has a fierce competitive mentality, and has developed into a complete player in all aspects of the game. The thing that I truly enjoy most about coaching Faith is watching her interactions with her teammates. She's the heart and soul of this team, but she never lets that go to her head. She's constantly giving her teammates feedback, she celebrates her teammates' success more than her own, and all of this while still looking for ways to improve her game regularly. In tough situations, when a game is tight and everyone is emotional, Faith finds a way to keep a cool, collected head and shares that amongst her teammates. This has proven extremely valuable, especially for some of the underclassmen looking up to her.
