Quotes from Kiski Area coach Jodie McCartney: "Sydney has been an instrumental part of our program's success over the last four years. She transitioned to a setter at the end of her freshman year to fill a void for our team and has developed into a key six rotation player. Not coming off of the court, Syd is a threat on offense, defense, and at the serving line. She was selected captain by her teammates for two years now, which speaks to her character. Her knowledge of the game and words of encouragement lead our team as she plays. It has been a joy to watch her develop into the player and more importantly person she is today. As a freshman on varsity through her senior year, Sydney radiates positivity and a willingness to put the hard work in to achieve her goals. Sydney is the type of player that a new head coach like me (in 2019) was very fortunate to have on the roster. We have grown together in the last four seasons, and I will miss her next year."
